This year’s curated lineup of feature designers and creatives at 100% Design South Africa proves the abundant wealth of talent there is in this country. As always, we foster a spirit of collaboration and innovation, and can’t wait to see what our showstopping designers have planned.

Star quality
This August, as 100% Design South Africa’s Feature Designer, multi-disciplinary designer Laduma Ngxokolo will demonstrate his creative prowess with homeware that channels a contemporary African aesthetic and his innate understanding of colour and pattern. At the show you can expect rugs, cushions and throws, as well as some new developments.

Sleep easy
The designers line-up of Monique Vee, Thabisa Mjo and Mpho Vackier - aka Apartment 2B - will take on the challenge of creating a restorative and restful space in the form of 100% Sleep. Combining their strengths, the trio will simultaneously incorporate inspiring and relaxing elements in a space that celebrates the quintessential refuge of the home. Also watch out for a range created in collaboration with a major local retailer.

Power seats
Longtime stalwart of the SA design scene, Haldane Martin effortlessly straddles product design and interiors. This dual strength perfectly equips him for the task of creating the 100% Lounge space, where his understanding of how spaces function, as well as his striking furniture designs, will set the scene for a stylish leisure zone.

Street smart
As the inaugural Feature Artist for 100% Design South Africa, street artist r1. will introduce visitors to his highly graphic and immersive style. While he’s known for large-scale public interventions, for the show he will demonstrate the natural relationship between interiors and art and how they can inform one another for a more integrated approach to designing spaces.

Dining out
Under the expert guidance of creative director Tracy Lee Lynch of Studio Lee Lynch, 100% Café will come alive as a zone to socialise and engage during the show. A platform for exciting young local designers, the space will serve as a showcase for a variety of talents curated by Lynch as a cohesive and engaging whole.
