Getting to know POPI 

You may have heard of POPI or POPIA  but what does it really mean for each one of us? What are we required to do every day to ensure we are compliant? Well that's what we intend to answer over the next few months.

And, yes, POPI has not come into affect yet and we can't say for certain when it will, but being prepared for it will be of great benefit to us all. 

We have put together a series of bite sized chucks to help you understand what POPI is all about. These will be sent every second week and they promise to be short and sweet as we know how busy you are. Grab a cup of tea and enjoy the read!

POPIA refers to South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (2013) which seeks to regulate the processing of personal information.

The information regulator has published a draft regulation for public comment. In view of these developments, many people and businesses are starting to become nervous, knowing that they are not yet familiar with POPI’s requirements and because they have not yet taken steps to prepare for POPI’s implementation
